People Demonstrating in Support of Spanish Revolution, Place de la Bastille, May, 2011 "Democracia Real YA! París" "The movement of "indignant" is spreading across Europe. A protest movement blowing across Europe. It started May 15 in Spain via social networks, bringing together mostly young people but also people from all walks of life. Calling themselves the "Indigados, " the indignant, they protest against the austerity policies, job insecurity and unemployment. They demand the establishment of a "real democracy". Arab inspired revolutions, this movement has spread beyond Spain to reach Greece, France or Germany. Protestors occupy the places of the cities, setting up camps and come together to assert their claims so pacifist and self-managed. "Who are we? We are people who freely and voluntarily agree to meet to continue to demand dignity and political awareness and social development. We do not represent any party or association. We are united by a desire for change. We're here for dignity and solidarity with those who cry out for us in Spain and those who can not be here. Why we're here? We are here because we want a new society that places more emphasis on life to political and economic interests. We support a change in society and in social consciousness. We want to show that society is not asleep and that we will continue to fight for what we deserve by peaceful means. We want everything we want it now, if you agree with us, join us!"
